My product design journey (so far)
Hi! 👋 Glad you’re here. I’m Emily: a product designer with 14 years of experience spanning across agencies, startups, and Fortune 500 companies.
I specialize in designing complex systems for groups who are often overlooked: tools for creators, operators, and internal teams, where clarity, trust, and scale matter deeply.
I began my career at a boutique studio in Montclair, NJ. There, I worked on mobile apps for Food Network, Fast Company, National Geographic, NFL, The Royal Irish Academy, Notre Dame Athletics, and many others. I loved the pace and variety of agency life, but I wanted deeper ownership of a single problem space from idea to impact.
That led me to an in-house role at Plated, a meal-kit subscription service, where I started as a graphic designer before quickly transitioning to product design. This role was transformative for me as I was able to have direct significant impact on the business’s primary metrics. I stayed for several years through their acquisition by Albertson’s.
I later joined the New Businesses team at Audible where I worked on international expansion, payments compliance, and Audible for Business.
I spent the following 4 years at Spotify where I played a hybrid IC/management role. As an IC, I designed the foundational payment capabilities to enable teams to launch new paid features in Spotify for Artists. I also managed a team of designers who supported platform capabilities like organization management, security, and content permissions.
Most recently I was at Warner Music Group where I was the lead designer on WMG Pulse, a newly launched mobile app that gives artists, songwriters, and their teams a comprehensive view of streaming performance, social media engagement, and earnings across platforms. It was so cool to see hundreds of Warner musicians and their managers use the app.
Looking ahead, I’m most energized by roles where design is trusted as a strategic partner and the work is grounded in real world impact rather than performative outcomes. I’m drawn to mission-driven teams addressing complex, meaningful problems. I do my best work in environments that prioritize clarity, long-term thinking, psychological safety, and strong cross-functional relationships, and where designers are empowered to shape how teams work together.
I’m open to new full-time remote opportunities.
